Import bank or card transactions

Export a .csv or .xlsx file from your bank, import it, confirm the layout, and approve each row. Reports count only approved rows.

Steps

  1. Export a .csv or .xlsx file from your bank or card website.
  2. Import it and confirm how the file is laid out (dates, amounts, descriptions).
  3. Fix or exclude any flagged rows, then import.
  4. Approve how each row is treated. Reports count only rows you approved.

Why a row is flagged

  • The date does not fit the format you chose. Dates are never guessed. Correct the row or exclude it.
  • Possible duplicate. Nothing is removed automatically, because two real purchases can look identical. You decide.

Good to know

  • Older .xls files, macro workbooks, and live bank connections are not supported. Save the file as .xlsx or .csv first.
  • Transfers between your accounts, credit card payments, owner money in or out, loans, and personal rows are kept out of income and expenses.
  • Link a deposit to an invoice payment so the same money is not counted twice.
  • This is a clear view of the cash in your imported accounts. It is not a full accounting system; your accountant can work from the exports.
